Reel ?

Picked up a Team Catfish 1/2 ton rod at Moore’s bait, and I have a Diawa sealine 47H reel that’s been laying around for a bit.

It looks a bit big but you all think it’ll work ok for cats and sturgeon on that rod??

I can tell you I have an Okuma trolling reel on a cat rod that works just fine. Not sure if it is a fair comparison or not, but the reel does look and feel big on my rods, but I use it as my second line on the Croix for Sturgeon.

Those reels would work just fine. They have a clicker and if you push the button, you’ll know how much line the fish has on you. Crank the drag down pretty tight errr all the way.
