I stopped in to see how the boys from Iowa were doing channel cat fishing out of Everts last night.
They were grinning from ear to ear with their success.
When asked what they were using, I was answered with Sonny’s, Junue’s (sp?) and cut bait.
From their report, I would say to channels are on fire!

We were out on pool 2 for channels the other night and went home skunked. I really need to improve my channel hunting skills now that flattie season is winding down.

August and September are huge months for Flatties. Some of us have caught our biggest flats in August. I know one guy that was nicknamed “Mr August” because he consistently catches 40+lbers during the month.
It sure has been a weird year though with the rain and everything. I can confirm that the channels have no doubt been on a tear, especially on the Miss. I’ve been driving all the way over there every weekend just because it’s been so much fun and the MN has been spotty at best.
Being skunked aint no thang. Heck I had one stretch of 8 days in a row where I didn’t even get a bite this year. 
But that ninth day made up for all those combined!
Oh and BTW, one of those big miss channels did its business all over my boat…. so they are still getting it done.
I’m keeping an open mind, dtro… 
I do need to find more spots here, so variety, I’m sure, will prove to be the spice of life.
