    Hello,

Got a call from my mom who works for the dnr and was happy to hear what she had to tell me. Just thought I would let everyone know that effective august 9 you will be able to use bullheads up to 10 inches. The big flatheads are going to be in trouble now.

    Take care everyone!

Just received an email from the MN DNR reinforcing the above.

“The rule is scheduled to be published in the state register on Aug. 2 and if in that version will be effective August 9.”

I sent you the correct link Jared.

    “Minnesota State Register”…

    ..and here’s the verbiage.

    Quote:

    Department of Natural Resources (DNR)

Adopted Permanent Rules Relating to Taking Bullheads

The rules proposed and published at State Register, Volume 34, Number 35, pages 1161-1164, March 01, 2010 (34 SR 1161), are adopted with the following modifications:

6262.0600 SEASONS AND METHODS FOR TAKING ROUGH FISH.

Subp. 5. Sale of fish over 12 inches. White suckers that are over 12 inches….

EDIT: Deleted because strike through formatting won’t show up on IDo.

    August 9th is the date!

Seems like just yesterday DirkW and I walked into the MN DNR office with dreams of larger bullheads.

First DNR Meeting was Dec 28th 2004.
