I have to admit over the years I’ve had some memorable catfish and sturgeon trips.

Sometimes it’s because of the fish and other times it’s because of the people. Each trip is unique in some way.

As far as numbers and size though, top honors go to this guy here.

Some called it a trip of a lifetime…I called it…

That does sounds like a great trip Brian. Three 28″ walleyes in a trip. Its been a while since I have even done that and walleyes are what I fish for.

Here is wishing Bob Moore the best. Sure hope we get to see him a little more on the river now.

Nice. Multiple trophy fish in one trip.

    Very nice.

I’m slowly turning green with envy here.

And while it’ll be sad to see Moore’s go, it gives Bob a chance to fish more and someone else a chance to run a bait shop! Yeah, how fun will that be for them? No more fishing for you, bucko…

Fishing for flatheads was probably this last prespawn fishing off the dam here in town. The bite was nothing short of fabulous with our total catch going around 150 lbs. for that 6 hr. period with the biggest being about 32 lbs. that Tim my friend caught. For 6 hrs it was one after another missing the runs and hooking the others.

All the guys on the dam were hooking into big flatheads and the guy next to us hooked and brought in a 42 pounder that we weighed just after he caught it. In the next few days we hooked, as did others, into alot of big flatheads because they were on fire. It was one for the record books because usually the score for everybody on the bridge isn’t as many every year, its good every year but not like it was this last spring.

Channel catfishing is good every year with large catches but as far as flatheads go it was really good this last prespawn. A few guys I talked to said they thought it was the amount of high water we had befor the spawn that brought them up river where they were stopped by the dam.
