It has been a tough year out here on Lake Mendota with few opportunities to get out and lousy bites when I do get out. I waited 4 hours for this one bite and this fish fought like a tiger. It took drag on the hookset and I couldn’t get it up after it saw the boat. I was thinking way over 20lbs but only around 10. Lots of bugs out and I think the fish are full of them. Not a huge fish at 25 inches but it had a 14 inch girth. The picture doesn’t do it justice but still I think the best is yet to come for me this year. tight lines.
