Good luck this year guys. Our group will not be able to attend this year and we have a cabin that needs to get filled. I emailed them, but have not heard back, I think the name of it is the lakeside?.

Call wigwam or pm me if you want this cabin.

My party of six just booked a cabin at Adrian’s. Ordered a flat of crawlers too. $33 for people staying there, he said probably $40 for all IDO members, and probably $50 for non-members. Heck of a deal! Can’t wait! I’m guessing the water will be pretty high and fast moving like two years ago, but who knows this IS Minnesota. Hoping I don’t have another $300 Rod explode into four pieces like last year haha.

    Catch’em Fast!

Yeah we can’t wait. Gonna have to hit the St. Croix a few times to ease the anxiety I’ve always had a group of six up at the Excursion Brian, usually half are too tired to hang out at the Wigwam @ night though!

You recommend a flat for just two people??

Suppose better to many, than to few.

    500 worm / 3 per hook = 166 fish.

Some guys sell off their extras, others use them for walleyes and then there’s Pug.

I “seed” my backyard, but somehow, they are never there when I go out to re-collect them

I don’t recall there being crawlers here when I first moved in about 4.5 years ago. Now I here the leaves rustling on the ground all the time when it is wet.

I used to do that too, but then I’d watch the wife dump weed killer and fertilizer on the grass and I think that explained why I never seen them again…grrrrr

We should be careful guys. Dumping crawlers in your yard is against the law.

I was under the impression that Wigwam was full for this years Sturgeon Excursion, incorrect.
Just spoke to Colleen at Wigwam, and she stated there are quite a few openings left, now would be the time to lock one down.

I think what they have open is the little sleeping rooms, not cabins.
Not bad if you just need a place to crash I guess.

Al, I haven’t talked directly with Coleen but there are at least two cabins that can’t make it and they just notified Wigwam.

We have a group of 10 coming up on the 28th. Any resort suggestions aside from Wigwam and Adrians? Personal experiences from any of the others up there? We know we are late to the game…
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. PM me if you would rather not give up your secret spot in a public forum!

I am going up in 13 days for 4 days.

I will report back and let you all know how it was

This is typically one of the funnest trips I make every sseason next to Rainy Lake.

I think I am going to fish the same spot I did a few years back. Its where I saw you at the landing BK.

We layed the smack down on them there in 2 different years. Many fish and some size ta boot.

It’s going to be the nicest weekend of the month.

I got mine out of storeage about 10 days ago.

I have gone over every inch of it and serviced the whole boat and motor. Got the rods ready.

    Just sitting at home waiting.

It cannot get here soon enough.

I will look for you on the river.

I am have gray LUND with a Merc on the back and we will have 3 in the boat.

What color boat will you be in?

We will be up early on the 14th so we can fish eyes for a half day maybe.

Looks like it was canceled, add three more..:)
Seems the MVIF club I belong to is going to be up there at the same time, add more to the mix.

Don’t care for crowds, but it appears there’s plenty of places to go.

    14 days to go….

I’m tempted to just go up Friday, sleep in the truck, give up on any kind of dignity to beg a seat in someone’s boat, fish Saturday, sleep in the truck and drive home Sunday.

Not the trip I had envisioned… but it may be better than nothing at all!

Have a few in my group that can no longer make the trip (April 28-May 1). Will be no longer needing one of our cabins at Adrian’s. If anyone is still in need of a cabin, give Adrain’s a call.
