The rule change is still going on. I was told the earliest would be August.

    Well thats good.

So this was basically a shortcut detour that ended up with a dead end sign at the end of it.

Hey BK, can you explain what this rule change is? I know it has to do with using 10″ bullheads as live bait, but I don’t get why that’s in need of a DNR rule change… I thought bullheads were on the rough fish list but NOT on the prohibited bait list. Ergo I was under the impression that there wasn’t a restriction on the size of the bullheads you use for live bait.

    That’s wrong?

Well some guy told me that would go through later this year, regardless if the omnibus bill got shot down.

I am so tired of waiting full ineffectual bodies to pull their collective heads out and at least get SOME long over due things done.

Until then they can all kiss my sweet

You probably won’t be able to (or want to) comment on what I am going to say either.

It seems to me Commissioner Holsten should be posting here and explaining the DNR’s position on the different parts of the bill.

    Exactly.

The assistant commissioner agreed that this was long over due and gave his nod to have it added to the bill.

I’m very afraid that in Aug we’ll get another delay (past practice predicts future performance) then, we’ll have a new governor, which could mean a new DNR Commissioner and Assistant.

There’ be a fresh batch of people to start the delays.

Kinda hard to work with the public when you can’t talk?
