Best Head Light I’ve Seen to date

Dean said to stop in the bait shop on Friday. He had a head light for me to check out. I yawned and said sure.

I mean really, how exciting can a head lamp be?

When I arrived he handed me the light. Pretty small I thought with only three leds. I pulled out the little plastic battery guard and pressed the on/off button.

    WOW! Instant blindness!

They take two 2032 lithium batteries (less than .70 each onine)
    70 hours of run time
AND the brightest light I’ve seen on the market!

    All for $14.99!

    Here’s the manufacturers pitch:

You’ll just have to check these out yourself!

The worlds Brightest , Lightest and Toughest Cap light
G6 Cap light is perfect for the late nights on MilleLacs chasing Eyes.
Or Stretching some line on Pool 4 with Wisker Fish.
Great for Setting Decoys at pre-dawn or walking to and from your Deer Stand or setting up for a long beard.
Brightness : 18 Lumens with a Focused Beam for watching your boards out @ 100 feet.
Polycarbonate for extreme duality in cold weather ( no more broken clips)
    Lightweight: < 1 oz.
Batteries included. 70 hours battery life (replaceable)

    ****************

I took 4 off of Dean’s shelf to sell for him at the sturgeon excursion and left him two in the bait shop. Ask me about them and I’ll blind you too! Day or night!

This is going to be THE hot light of the year!

    Thanks for the head-up
Tell Dean to stock up and that I will be down next week to pick up a couple so he better get his cookie order in soon.

Darn it BK, you got me in the catfish forum AGAIN

    Sorry Jeff,

They don’t come in Red because there’s no bugs 2 miles out in Lake Michigan.

Attracting bugs with a white light doesn’t bother me as much as the bats that are attracted by the bugs though.

Still, at $14.99 an excellent buy for a white light.

They work great for getting the attention of customer service workers at a restaurant or Menards.

So is it the size, or the brightness that makes it the best you’ve seen, maybe both?

I really don’t care for the button/watch batteries, but that is just a personal thing, mostly because if my batteries are dead, I might not be able to find them at a convenience store at the last minute. Also the kind that sit below the brim of the hat block my vision for some reason, it must be the way I wear my hat or something, I don’t know. I like the adjustability of the headstrap type, but I’ve also found that I will get tension headaches if I wear those too long.

I don’t use a red light very often, but it does help when the bugs are bad or your partner doesn’t like to be blinded.

18 lumens is pretty darn bright for any head light and it’s light weight.

If your buddys don’t like to be blinded, this is not the hat for you! I was showing a co worker just a few minutes ago how bright they are…at 6 feet from his face he’s still seeing the blinding light.

I won’t be changing all my lights over to these for the time being…but they do sell themselves once people see the brightness.

I thought about the coin type batteries too. Target has 10 for $6.20 per the FW.

Assuming we can get 70 hours of run time on a set of batteries, 10 batteries should last 700 hours. At roughly 4 hours of light on time per night, that’s about 175 trips.

Sounds like we better buy $12.40 worth of batteries for this summer! LOL!

Next time your down to Everts check them out…or I’ll have mine at the Sturgeon Excursion as a demo with all of 4 to sell for Dean. First come, first serve!

Maybe it’s the narrow beam, because 18 lumen’s while bright isn’t all that bright compared to say a Princeton Tec which has 45 L’s and a wider path.

Might have try one of these for the price though!

Intrigued. I haven’t found a headlamp yet that I couldn’t break before the first set of batteries where expired.

Actually Larry, I haven’t missed one in a couple of years. Once they bite their A$$ is in the boat. My problem yesterday was not getting any to bite. My fishing has been limited this year due to my mom having surgery and when I can get out I’ve been striking out. So pound sand.

I know you were teasing. Stress around here is very high and nobody wants a bunch of boring idiots in the catforum. The bass one is right above. Mom is doing OK. It was the losing of our daycare provider with one weeks notice that cuts to the bone. After the surgery was complete and that was a tough day it has been just time consuming. As I shared with Darin, the fish gods are testing my worthiness. If I pass the test, I will be rewarded. Pound sand anyway for good measure.

On your way out the door of the bait shop…look up. Next to the St Croix Ice Rods there was two of them last weekend.

If not and you want one, I have an extra one that I picked up for a friend a couple months ago. He hasn’t been over to get it so I can have it to the bait shop on Friday (tomorrow) late afternoon.

I keep it on my hat all the time! The boss looks at me funny but with one shot of that light, he’s blinded. Then he doesn’t look so funny anymore.

Is there a brand name on these, so if Dean does run out or we never make it thru the law enforcement nightmare that is Prescott, WI, we can find one of these mighty-brites for ourselves?

Argh, don’t even get me started on Prescott.

Hey Brian! I googled Master Vision and I couldn’t find the 3 led lite like the one in your pics. I did find 3 led lights that were thinner. Is that a discontinued model Dean is selling? I’m thinking that the thinner model isn’t gonna have the narrow beam for blinding people.

I hope Deano chimes in here soon. I don’t think they are discontinued, I think they are too new….I think.
