So what do you guys use to keep your flats of crawlers in? Its gets to be a chore trying to keep a flat in order in the boat. Any ideas on what may work better?

Vets get vaccines in the greatest styro containers you can find. I have kept crawlers alive for 90-100 degree days for a week in ontario. good luck

I think we may try pulling what we plan on using for the day out of the flat and washing them. Then store them in a smaller container. Chopping dozens of worms mixed in with bedding sure can get messy in the boat in a hurry.

Pull out what you will use for the day and put them another container. Keep the flat in a cooler or refrigerator.

I use a cheap foam cooler ya buy from the gas station, the one with the plastic latches for the lid. Works great.
And by the way…. the crawlers are all over tonight.

Thanks guys. With all the sand we have in Ham Lake I dont think we will ever need to worry about invading night crawlers. They just dont make it up hear.

    Mike,
I put a full flat into two separate styrofoam minnow buckets. seems to work just fine.

A five gallon bucket worked pretty good for us. Jon took the crawlers where going to use for the day out of the flat, rinsed them and threw them in the bucket with some ice. Sure was nice not having the mess of all that dirt in the boat.
