2010 Channel Pics…

Just figured I’d start this up this year. This one is from last night. 28″ of pure goodness. Caught on squished fatheads in 13 f.o.w.

Steve, you should install and air-boat fan on the yacht so you can take it out ice fishing.

either of you guys mind sharing what you were using for bait? i’m heading down to the ruins tomorrow for the first time, and i’ll be looking for my first catfish.

i’m thinking i’ll bring cutbait and crawlers. sound good? hopefully this cold weather won’t mess anything up

3, 4, or 5 Fatheads on a hook presented live, crushed, tails pinched off or any combo of the 3 can be effective.

First one of year

Got this fatty boom-a-latty on a piece of cut bait. 31″ long and weighed 13.8 pounds. Nice way to start out the season.

A first season touch down with a football!

It must be a blue. It has a blue color. And it looks bigger than most channels. And that is how you identify a blue.

That’s what I was thinking Pug…and Dan’s further South.

Nice fish Dan, The way I tell a blue cat from a channel is by the anal fin. Because they can be almost identical otherwise. Dan’s covering up the anal fin with his left hand in that picture though.

Yeah, we were just having a little fun with the ‘rare’ Minnesota Blue cat legend.

Yup…no doubt a blue channel cat that hasn’t stopped eating since last fall.

Between your photo’s, Steve catching bullheads, Dtro’s cat contest and the FW giving me too long of a todo list…I can’t stand it!

Those are some nice fish. Only make it out twice so far this year and it had to be from shore. Here is one of the better ones i’ve got though

Stink? Cut? Blue over Orange Rapala?

Got her on three or four fat heads broken in half. Couldn’t get ahold of any fresh cut bait and didn’t want to spend the money to buy suckers, so I figured that was the next best thing.

You really get a sense of how fat that fish is with the second pic Dan
