Fall Sturgeon on Rainy River

Looking to head up in October for a walleye/sturgeon trip. I’ve done it in the spring a bunch for both but never fall. I’m just curious if tactics are pretty much a carbon copy of the what/where of spring fishing. Four mile bay is where I’d like to go, but not sure if river itself is better at that time. Thanks for replies

I am also interested in this exact same thing. Pondering a trip up possibly next fall.

Actually was part of this forum already, either my account got deleted or I have forgotten my login stuff. It had been awhile since I posted.

Have fished Rainy River alot, just not in fall. So much good fishing right here it’s tough to leave. I dont hunt so it’s nice to have more room out there. I know they’ll be sturgeon in the river in fall too, just curious what the trough out in 4 mile is like too, both for fish and fishermen.

If you’re looking to come up…the end of October and the begining of November are very good for both Walleye and Sturgeon. We are just starting to see the Shiner run into the river, but with this cold front that gave us a visit the past few days, it would be great to hold off a few weeks to let the fishing get back to “top shelf” status.

    Happy Fishing!!!!
