Heading out to the Croix on Saturday. Is the water finally cooling down? Anybody getting into some big sturgies yet?

troller I talked to Friday 9.a.m.at Black Bass Pt south of Hudson said he had 72 degrees. Have been swimming just about every day for two weeks…thursday noticed algae bloom. The comorants have headed south and trukey vultures are massing in the themrmals in crowds of 30-50. Good luck Saturday guys.

Water temps vary on the Croix depending on where your at I had 72-75 degrees today and it didnt slow the fishing up a bit, the massive pile of weeds and more weeds did throw a wrench in things but not enough to ruin the day completely

I have had a lot of luck fishing the edge of the weed patches around drop offs for Walleye and Sauger. I’ve been trolling jointed shad raps in 8-12 feet of water on the Wisconsin side. I still haven’t had much luck getting in to some Big Sturgeon. Has anybody found the big fish?
