Sturgeon

    Was down boating with the family today on the St. Croix. Wife said we were not fishing but little did she know I was scouting spots while we were cruising along. Question is what is the deepest you would fish sturgeon? I found some deep holes and I may try them out.. Last year the deepest I went was about 45′.

    The FW and I spent the weekend on pool 4 and we caught them in a hole that was 47′-55′ deep.

    I’m not trying to mess you up…but don’t get too hung up on the deepest holes…I’ve caught then frequently in 10 feet of water.

    But to answer your question…directly, isn’t the deepest part of the St Croix 125 feet?

    I wouldn’t fish over 125 feet.

    You didn’t let her now you were scouting? I’ve been caught before. Not too severe of a tongue lashing. Mine knows me too well.
