12:01am and we had our lines down…we were fishing 33 feet of water with crawlers and cut-shad. If this were going to be anything like last year, I was in for one hell of a night. Over the next 2 hours, we waited patiently for the bite to pick up. Finally, around 2 a.m I felt a “tap, tap” and I set the hook…I had something on, but was it the Sturgeon I had set out for?! NO! It was a 31 inch 15 pound channel cat! Although a decent channel, not what we had set out for. We decided to move around a bit, but ended up going home with not 1 Sturgeon caught!? I know that the water levels are still a little low, but I want to know how other people are doing this year.

HAVE YA’LL HAD ANY LUCK THIS YEAR?

IT was slow for me last night but we managed 4 and the largest was 38 inches so nothing to write home about.

Try shallow. I went out cattin with a buddy and the sturges wouldn’t stay off. Were’t real big but biggest was 44 or something. Shallow I mean 10ft or less, not far off deep water.

Caught 4 on sat morning. Biggest was about 36″. Fished 28-30′. Saw many jumping in shallower water though.
