Rare to see such honesty in a fisherman.

Thanks for taking us out Brian, once we warm up and dry off we may just have to do a rematch.

You know you’re the man when you can make a barge crew of ten wait so you can get us to the spot…..

i too went out last night from 8:30 to 10:30. the rain got to me ans the wind was swinging the boat enough to make it a bit of a hastle. packed it up without any runs at all. I was hoping with the tough conditions, i would be rewarded, but zippo.

I was out for a while last night, too… four runs. One 3 pounder, one break off and two that swum me into a snag. At least I got to hear the clicker a few times.

I’m glad someone had some type of action…you know that saying it’s better than staying home…I was questioning that last night.

It’s always good to spend time in the boat with you Mr. Moore. I hope you didn’t put Greg away wet!!

You know, I was thinking…that was the closest I’ve been to a wild beaver since before I was married…wait! That might have come out wrong!

That guy couldn’t have been 10 feet away, totally out of the water…pretty cool.

Kev show me a fisherman that doesn’t get skunked once in a while and I’ll show you ummm a fisherman! It’s nights like last night that builds a persons character…well, that sounded good.

    Sorry about the skunks.

A buddy and I were camping on an island in pool 13 after a rainy day when there was no one out on the river. I woke up to find an otter (I think) splashing around by the boat. Craziest thing.

Beaver were pretty common on the smaller river I used to fish in central IL.

Shawn we have a lot of beaver here too….just not very often they come completly out of the water so close to the boat.

Now otters on the other hand, I’ve seen one on the St Croix in Afton and one pair, once in a cut that I fish regularly. They’re pretty cool looking.

Even a great fisherman, misses the bite once and a while. I listened to the weather man who said storms only to see one of the best condition wise nights of the year. So I didn’t even get out to get skunked. But I’ve never been skunked here.

I think I mentioned it before, but a few Sundays back I had an otter come ashore about 30 yards from me. It was pretty cool. It seemed a bit nervous and ended up marking it’s territory (I got a picture I took later if you’d like to see ) and then disappeared. I wasn’t sure if it was a mom with a den that it had gone into or if it went up into the grassy field. I assumed a den, but I heard something making a ruckus in the grass. I am not sure what a otter would do up in a field.
