Third spot we fished tonight, we lost 4 fish in less then a half hour to snags, all quality sized fish, and then my buddy pull this horseshoe out of his rear… and with the current we were fishing in, it was a nightmare to land this fish, took almost 20 minutes to get him in the boat.

44 pounds, 11 ounces (we never did measure it, just weighed it and released it)

Also, if anyone is interested in doing some snorkeling… there is a 16lb Richter sitting on the bottom of the river…

it got wedged in a tree, and we tried for almost an hour to get the thing out. ended up having to cut the rope…

    He’s a perdy one Perch!

Did your prop blade get that little wave in it last night too?

How deep of water were you fishing?

no, that wave was courtesy of pool 3 a couple weeks ago… i won’t run any faster then idle on the minnesota with how low the water is, cause you’re constantly running into stuff.

the boat was in 8 ft of water, sitting just over the crest of a slope that dropped to 31ft, and was littered with snags. we weren’t even going to fish it with how strong the current was there, but i marked two Baby Subs on the graph, so we decided to give it a try, and it paid off big time!

I lost a 15# mushroom anchor in a similar situation except I drove around the tree… and had a 10# navy come off last year due to a bad knot…

The anchor graveyard.. it’s just downstream from the prop graveyard!

the first fish i had on last night almost emptied my entire spool before he snagged me up, i’m using an okuma 40 series spinning reel, so, it was A LOT of line taken out…

we will definitely be fishing this spot again.

Horseshoe….Whatever! You’re the Balckcat, Im suprised a fish was even caught while you were in the boat.

I really wish we woulda measured that fish…Oh well, wanting to get him back into the water is way more important!
