I’m hoping it’s not too late to enter my boy in the Beckman Makin’ Memories Contest!

Kooty is going to need a larger, stronger net than what he’s been using in the past for his walleyes.

Well, I’m going to guess Kooty is about 6’9″ and 210 pounds…I’ve never really though about Tuck’s dimensions.

    Oh…the cat! Sorry!

I’m a believer in pounds and oz for flatheads and leave the inchs for the eye and bass crowds. Call me old school.

When Kooties fish came to the boat, both Tuck and I sized up it’s rather narrow head and guessed low to mid 30’s although with the amount of cinched down drag she took out, i should have known better. Once the fish was in the boat…she grew in length.

Either way, I’m going to guess Kooty has a new perspective on flat head fishing!

    So would this be wrong??

There’s a bass tourney out of Everts this weekend. Would it be wrong to print out a picture of Kooty and his personal best saying that it was cought on a 4 pound bass and leave it in the bait shop?? ‘course I would print Kooties home address and phone number on the photo.

So your telling us that a guy gets his personal best and no one laid a tape or a scale to it? But….. she grew in length once in the boat
Was this old school before tape measures and scales?
And they used to eat what they caught?
    Your killing us LOL

Thanks all! We are calling her 44lbs. I completely forgot to get a length on her. But she was long. Not the typical super wide heads I see in many of this forum’s pictures. Just a beauty of a fish. My guides only missed her weight by 10+ lbs.

1st, THANKS Bk and Tuck!!!!!!! Absolutely blew my expectations for the night. The double PB was obviously a huge bonus, however, learning a very small amount about these critters and where they inhabit was AWESOME. I’m still a bit shaky and grinning from ear to ear. You guys that fish in night are still weird, but I sure can see why you enjoy it. Solitude, peaceful and a bit scary all at the same time. I’ll take some of that!!

Again, thanks Bk for guiding us last night. 1st PB was a meager 10lber, I would have been completely happy if my night would have ended on that fish. Thankfully not long after settling into a new spot the big girl was kind enough to visit us in the boat. Off the water just before the rain, must have been the guide!!

    BTW, I’m only 6’1″ and 185lbs.

The last pic I posted cracks me up. My already dead left arm was DONE. I was gritting my teeth telling the photographers, I’m spent. She was also nice enough to give me my first flathead kiss on the back of my hand. Gloves are for sissies!!!

They say the camera adds ten pounds…in your case make it 20!

Great fish Bud! Thanks to you and BK for letting me tag along after my “Date” cancelled right before the prom!

Nice way to start your cat career. I told you I must be the good luck charm! Three trips in a row with newbies, and all three get fish over 30 pounds!

Way to put us on the “Spot” BK!

Now that’s more like it….. congrats on the PB Kooty. Its funny how all of a sudden the adrenalin wears off and your gassed when it comes to picture time, arms burning feel like they are filled with lead… and the camera guy is coaxing you… comeone one more shot
Way to go BK for showing another one the path to the dark side.

Here is one of MR BK himself a few years back… If I recall this one went 26lbs… but it was his 3rd of the night and I was taking a lot of shots… and he was struggling to HOLD the POSE…

    Nice Koots/guys!

Hope our plan of circumventing some of Brian’s rules by spiking said beverage before boarding worked out…

Hey BK, are there any more PB pins left at Evert’s?

Thanks Ryan! The Float Tech jacket system was just as sold. Comfortable and waterproof. I actually had to take the tags off it for this trip. She’s not new anymore!!! Nothing like a little flathead slime to bring her to life.

Yup! I like mine, too. I’ve got three–one for me, one for the wife, and one for a passenger

Nice fish Kooty. Once a fisherman experiences a good cat fight, they are usually hooked and everything else is just anticlimactic. I enjoy many species but nothing gets me excited for a trip but good weather and catfish biting.
