I have fished all over the USA and have never been anywhere like this. This is one of the very best bluecat fisheries in the country. It is worth the trip if you ever want to go! I will be goin back sooner than later!

Here is the picture of the monster blue Cody Mullennix and I landed at Wilson/Wheeler Lake in AL last Thursday. I got most of it on video for those of ya that want to see how hard one of these giants can pull! Cody was using a heavy action 1 TON casting rod…….He needed all of it to get this beast in from the back of the boat while fighting it around the anchor rope……..

Looks like great fun. The Morse Code in the middle of the video caught me off guard…what does “BC 3 TA0WBC 03” mean?

    Nice cat!

Yes that’s the same Cody…awesome fish!

Cody guides in Northern Texas/Oklahoma. The best part (for me)about those last two record blue catfish is that they were caught by catfishermen targeting top-end fish. No lucky ducks fishing with jigs and minnows for walleye or crappie, and no zebco 33 reels spooled with 12# test.

Impressive fish! The struggle to get the fish into the net would have given me a heart attack, especially since the hook JUST fell out as you got it! DANG nice fish.
