Who will have the first? The Largest? Pug has dibs on the smallest!

Will they be caught on a White or Black rod? TEAM CATFISH Double Action hook or a J Hook? PowerPro or Suffex?

    The questions never end!!

Good Luck in 09 and be safe!

Fishing is like golf, right? Lowest score wins? Brian, you would know all about golf scoring, eh?

Jennie thinks it’s time she caught a flathead. Part of me wants her to get one, just so I can say I had a BIG one in my boat. The other part is scared of how BIG the fish will actually be. I would really like to keep the record for one species at least

Hopefully tomorrow night for me and Sunday night for Jennie

Oh and as far as rods go, it will definately be on a black custom made rod Although the one Kooty just picked up is nice too

A fish story without a picture…is just a fish story.

All I can say is it sucks when Twin Cities has higher water temps than northern IL…that and all of our launches are closed. May be another week or so before anyone takes a flat in my neck of the woods..

I got my first of the year yesterday (May 1). I think Darren has a pic but it’s nothing spectacular, something like 30 inches. Didn’t bother measuring, I’d say 7-8 lbs or so.

Cheap Ebay hook (7/0 original Kahle – pre-eagleclaw days), 5 oz bank sinker, live creek chub, 80 lb power pro, abu garcia 7000 with an american spirit nite stick pro 8 foot rod.

Unfortunately nothing tonight, I started another personal skunking streak.

I think it is a bit early to call consecutive nights a skunk streak. Maybe if it were late May.

    Nice flats!

We had an awesome day here (weatherwise), I’m expecting the action will pick-up very soon. I also hear one of the launches is now open! What a difference a day makes… (edit) or not. One launch was open earler, but by the time the guys returned they announced all the launches were officially closed again.

I think that other thread might be why he noted that they were eBay hooks? StCroixer, will be living that one down for a while I reckon.

I’ll make sure to remind him that it was you, not I. I don’t need any fishing buddy bridges burnt. How is that for alliteration?
