I remember a post once somewhere called sexing a cat, maybe not here but, I thought there was a way to check a channel cat to see if it’s a female or a male? I believe there was a way to tell buy some kind of distance between two holes underneath? Stop it now! I’m tryin to be serious.

I took a picture of one to see if anybody can tell. One cat (not pictured) had a ummmm….protrusion outta that area too. But it went back inside it while unhooking it. Male?

Also, what part of a 5 inch sucker minnow would be considered the “prime” chunk if cut in three pieces. Head, middle or tail?

    Dan…

I don’t know what to say…isn’t there a law regarding fish porn?

The only post I recall was about sturgeon. Males had more of a slit and females were rounded that would fit an egg.

I never like using the head until Bushman said “Oh man, that’s the best part! Step on it first!”.

I’ve been a believer in head ever since.

Looking at that picture, am I to assume flatheads only have only one testicle?

Here’s a philosophical question. If flatheads had a nut sack, would you hold them differently? Hey Brian, looks like I came up with a new poll…..so to speak.

Seriously Dan, I think a protrusion may actually have meant she was a gal. Many female fish develop tubes (or have tubes that just enlarge during breeding) for egg laying. Then again, many species the males also develop these tubes….glad I could help.

    I think I’ll pass on that poll…sir.

I wish I could remember who it was…but they were seated in the photo chair and after a bit of instruction on how to hold a flat, one hand in it’s mouth and the other supporting the weight of it’s belly, I stood back to take a photo.

He jumped a bit and his eyes became REAL wide. Said his finger slide up the “no zone”. It was hard to hold the camera steady after that.
