All right, I hope the title grabbed your attention. I had one heck of a night last night on what is becoming my favorite fishing hole ever. I got off of work yesterday an hour early- needed to go fishing. I thought that tonight will be flathead night. I ran to the gas station to get a can of chew and some night crawlers to go catch some bait. While pulling into the gas station, I bumped into site regular Andy Craig. I told him that I was going catfishing tonight and that he should come. Well, he said he was bass fishing, so we wished each other luck and headed our seperate ways. Well after quickly catching a dozen bluegills, I ran down to the old fishing hole. Set up my big 7 foot heavy action rod with my Abu c3 6500 spooled with 65 pound power pro. I was ready, and I’m glad I was. The first fish came while I was in the bathroom. I was walking out of the jon when I seen my friend, Jason Bock, cranking in my pole. I was wondering why he was cranking in my bluegill. Hmmm, duh!! I ran down there and took the show over. After a healthy 8 minute fight on tackle that could crank in the Titanic, I seen what would be my personal best- a 42lb HOG!!! I was in fish heaven, similar to when I caught my big walleye. Took some photos, let her go and decided to put on another bluegill and wait her out. After another hour or so, I notice that my rod had started to strain and I realized that my bait clicker was buzzing. I picked it up and felt substantial weight on the end of my line. I figured, it’s business time. I cranked in my slack, and using circle hooks, held the rod up and lightly pulled back. Thump, thump, thump, I felt the pig taking off. Another bruiser, I could tell. again, after a nice lengthy battle, my buddy again had the pleasure of landing a 26 pound brute! So, to wrap everything up, I caught two personal bests- a 42 pounder and a 26 pounder in one night. So this goes out to everyone out there, hit the fishing hole- now’s the time the monsters are moving!!! Good luck and tight lines!

Oh, and Andy, you might wanna get yourself a big pole.
