Realitor Ron, the most famous guy on IDO that hasn’t ever posted…and I took to the high water of Pool 4 tonight.

We used live suckers, cut suckers and worms.

Not a nibble on the worm that was placed in a current seam. The cut sucker had action the whole evening although we never landed anything. I think it was turtles…but RR disagrees. Guess it doesn’t matter at this point.

We had three runs with the live suckers. Two after dark…and one before dark pictured below.

Ron and I are one…we think the same…after his 26 incher was landed and on the floor of the boat he said…

    “What is it?”

    He’s my kinda guy!

No flatties tonight…but I would bet a quarter the other two runs were flats. Water temp was 51 where we were fishing.

    It’s time to get serious!!

I love how Brian gets upset when he catches a fish that 99% of Minnesota’s other anglers would consider the catch of a lifetime

I guess we cat guys are just our own breed!

I’d be proud of a 28″+ fish he always brings in his boat in the spring. And I am not a big walleye fan and I don’t like targeting them.

I wasn’t addressing it directly at anyone, but I do like the new phrase you just coined. Now every time I get a snag it will be, “Wall-an-eye”. Or if I can’t start the lawn mower it’ll be, “Piece of walleye”. Whiff on a flathead, “Sauger”.

Do walleye fishermen have a sense of humor or are they going to see this and call for me to get banned?

Sometime a guy just has to take what’s biting.

Rodman…you think I didn’t say that this time??

All the way home I was reminding Realtor Ron the cost of a sucker.

The flatheads are out there, I can feel them!

I’m starting to think that too. Maybe we should start trying to catch “eyes” Those guys always seem to get the flats be “accident”

Better yet, come up to the Mille Lacs get-together this Summer, and let exchange notes! You guys can show us how to catch the big Eyes, and we can show you guys how to catch the big cats!
