I stopped into Border Bait and Tackle today (North of Baudette on the way to Wigwam Resort) to pick up some shiners. I heard a rumor that adding a shiner to your worms works very well…but I haven’t tried it yet.

I met a very nice, informed service person by the name of Judy. She said that since walleye season was over they wouldn’t be getting anymore shiners coming in. After explaining what I was going to use them for she said that frozen shinners were $1. less expensive. What a deal! I took two packs and hope to try them out after the rain in the morning.

Also, they had a box of 100(?), well a big box of Garcia reels sitting there. 5000’s, 6000’s and 6500’s might be other models too as I didn’t go through them all. They are reconditioned reels and are being sold for $35. Some look like new, others are scratched up.

I thought I would post this as these would be perfect for the guy looking to save a few bucks on a sturgeon or cat set up.
