From the folks in International Falls….

    Quote:

The river is open at the Ron Hall access on Shorewood Drive in Int’l Falls. Downstream, you can launch at Kuttes landing near Pelland. The river is open to Franz Jevne State park and will soon be open to Nelson park in Birchdale.

    We are getting close guys!

For the person who doesn’t get out much, what the heck does that mean?

It means roughly 11 more miles of ice to the lake.

Generally it’s from Birchdale to LOTW’s where we fish sturgeon….not because there aren’t sturgeon upstream, just because it’s a drive from where we are staying…and the mouth of the Rainy River.

    Hope that helps.

Last year they were breaking ice at Birchdale on 4/9.

    We’re right on schedule

The boys are mad at me. But they’ll get over it.

Yo Brin an FYI for you…..Birchdale to Wheelers is a 36-37 mile boat run on the water depending on how tight a guy cuts the corners and the rivers bends eh!

We were at the Clemenston ramp last year when Dr. Hook, JJ, and I loaded up the boats in the rain.
