What can I say? This weather is terrible!
I’m looking forward to the early fishing holes to give way to open water which generally happens within the next couple weeks. My ambition is there to break out the early cat rod and put on a nice chunk of shad just to see that 1st hit of the year…
Instead, I take regular drives to the early spots and see that small openings are freezing over and getting thicker by the day in this weather 
These next few weeks are going to be long if the weather doesnt make a major change. The average temp now in the twin cities is above freezing… but we are lucky to see the 20 degree temps and single digit and teens for lows. Our lack of snow and colder than average winter has already made far more ice than a normal winter.
OK… im done whining for now!
