i fish the red wing dam for catfish sometime in the summer. and i was just wondering what size no roll sinkers to use. i have never used them before and really look forward to using them. the bait i use is a 3 inch sucker minnow or creek chub. and i like to fish close to the dam. thanks.

For Flathead fishing with live bait I typically go for 3-5 ounce no roll sinkers. I think 4 ounces is probably my most used size.

2-6 is a good range depending on bait size and current. I would suggest ditching the no-rolls and going with flat banks instead though. I think no-rolls are overrated, I don’t like them at all.

Normally I use a 3 oz all year at the wing dams. Once in a while 4, but if the current requires a 4 I move to other areas to fish and go back to a 3. I have two 5’s in my tackle box and I’m not sure how many years they’ve been in there.

I try to fish a area where I can use 4 or less. But 3 is a pretty common weight tied on
