Last year on the excursion, we used my muskie rods. They worked fine, but I’d like to get something with a little more length. As a walleye guy, I prefer 1 piece rods, almost exclusively. However, as I’ve been browsing the rods out on CFconnection, any 8 footers seem to be 2 piece.

    1. Does it really matter for sturgeon? I’m concerned with the “weakened” area the way those fish pull.
    2. This rod will be used a couple times a year, so I don’t need a “St. Croix” quality/price point. Any recommendations?

Thanks for all the suggestions. Of course, I’ll call Bob to see what he can provide me with too.
