Pool 4 Cat Report

I spent Tuesday evening chasing kitties on Pool 4. We launched out of Evert’s around 6:30. The water was high and really moving quickly! I was amazed at the difference since I was last out there a week and a half ago. We had non-stop action from 7:00-9:00, but action slowed after that. We landed 15 channel cats and one little sturgeon. We had two doubles.

We used exclusively dead shad for bait. The areas that we caught the majority of fish from were slack water and current seams where the slack water met the raging Mississippi current.

The majority of the fish were 26″-29″ with one 31″.

There are no channel cats on Pool 4!

Nice report Ryan…I would be down there this weekend fishing but I’m leaving for Wichita Monday…so it’s clean up the boat and winterize the trailer time.

With any luck I’ll find someone to take me fishing down there….

Anyway…they still are a snapping the way it looks.

    Thank you.

Not to mention that the Manager at Everts is a pretty nasty guy. Don’t go there….all the fish are on P8.

    Ok, nuff BS…

Great fish guys! I’ll have to make it down there this coming summer sometime. If not to just meet this BK character once. Oh and Dean too!

    Why wait ’till summer??

The channels are chomping and the sauger/walleye’s are turned on!

Stop in sometime, I’ll buy you a soda or a beer…tell Dean the first launch is on me…(first launches are always free at Everts…so I’m not out much).

I’m the shorter, handsome one with all the girls around me..(even though it’s the Favorite Wife and Daughter) and Dean’s the tall guy with the mouth full of cookies.

Ralf…I have to ask the question…I see there’s only one photo of you with a cat…does that mean the curse is back??

Uh, I see 4 photos of me and 4 photos of Keith…

I caught more than him. Of course, I was using black rods and he was using white…draw your own conclusions

Ahem! You remember the last trip we took? I can bring my luck along again. As usual, I won’t waste it on myself.

Bret, just go to 4 and fish for saugers! those whiskered things are a dime a dozen. Especially the yellow ones. Just remember to keep them as they a mighty tasty!

    Sean?

There’s an Alumacraft here that has two flat tires.

Sweet! I’ve never seen an Alumacraft with tires before. Is it like one of the WI Dells Ducks?

    Nice catch guys!
I’m going to try and get out a couple more times on the upper St. Croix, if this damn wind will ever slow down.

I still want to try on shore just up past the boom site on the croix. Outdoors4life showed me a nice little spot.
