What in the wind is going on?

I was planning on going out tonight for a few to chase sturgeon, but anchoring in 80 fow () is no good with 35 mph winds.

Anybody know of a website like weather.com that tells/predicts wind for specific areas hour by hour?

I might not give up on tonight if I knew they were going to die down in an hour ….. or four

Any help would be much appreciated.

Doesn’t look like it’s gonna slow down much.

I use the hourly forecast from the weather channel’s site for checking wind direction for hunting. It works well for me.

This is the best I could find.

Not much for forecasting, but it will give you local conditions, even Afton has a station.

Thanks guys for the info and fast response!

Look like the bite detection might be a little too rough tonight although………

Pug, looks like NW 3mph wind at the Afton station

Don’t forget your honey hole is in the valley. I live less than a mile away and it can be windy as heck here…and calm on the Croix…and visa versa.

    Well boys,
The wind gods made the decision for me last night, went to the boat and either Pug left MY bilge on when we went out last Sunday or maybe I did (I can’t remember)?
Either way, can’t say I was too disappointed as it was not too pretty out there.
Hooked up the battery for charging, looks like tonight is the night.
Good luck out there guys, only 5 days left

The old “Pug left the bilge on” excuse, we hear ya, we’ve all used that one when we are wimping out.

Except with you Steve, it would be…”Pug left the ceiling fan on”.

Well it’s a good thing it was the “Pug left the bilge on” and not the “Pug forgot to put the drain plug back in” excuse.

I don’t use the ceiling fan much, it keeps taking the tips off my favorite sturgeon rods. Now I don’t need it, I just sit in the jacuzzi once the weather cools off.
