this from another site. Don’t know if it has been on here already.

A guy who lives at Round Lake

(50 miles South of Yorkton) saw a ball bouncing

around kind of strangely in the lake and went to

    investigate.

It turned out to be a flathead catfish who had

obviously tried to swallow a basketball which

    became stuck in its mouth!!

The fish was totally exhausted from trying to

dive, but unable to because the ball would

always bring him back up to the surface.

The guy tried numerous times to get the ball out,

but was unsuccessful. He finally had his wife cut

the ball in order to deflate it and release the hungry

    catfish.

You probably wouldn’t have believed this,

if you hadn’t seen the following pictures…

This story and the pics were circulating a year or two ago. I think it was determined that it was fake. Can’t recall for sure.

The funny thing is I can never grow tired of it. Just more lore for the greatest fish on earth. Am I using lore right?

I thought about pinning a post like this to the top a couple of years ago…that and the 11 man long White Sturgeon (that was caught on LOTWs… )

But ya can’t blame a guy for posting it when it’s the first time they’ve seen it. Kinda like trying to keep quiet about sliced bread.

wait a minute…….they have sliced bread?

No blame to poster, just wish this fish along with the big sturgeon you mentioned, and also the pike with smaller pike in its mouth and last but not least, the Rainy River European Pike, would just go away quietly. waytogo

Thats a prime example of why great whites have disappeared from Minnesota waters. People need to learn how to CPR their catches.

The best part is about the shark sleeping in the sunken truck in Lake Pepin…

Kind of sad to see that a basketball has a bigger PB than me.
