I know a number of folks have been out with Steve DeMars on the picturesque St Croix River fishing in our little 45 day sturgeon season.

I had a chance to tag along for a tour with him a week ago.

Steve semi retired his 17 foot boat for a dream rig of catten and sturgeon fishing. After much research, Steve ended up with a Premier 25′ pontoon purchased from Warners Dock in New Richmond.

It’s true front porch fishing with the cushy captain’s chairs up front and the couch that reclines in the cockpit area. A basin to wash off the cut bait and a hide away biffy for when the Favorite Someone is along whether that’s the Favorite Wife, Favorite Kids, Favorite Grandchilden or Favorite Fishing Partner .

It can be fully enclosed for the not so nice days along with the screen to allow a breeze to come through with out having the trouble with skeeters.

Partial carpeting and vinyl where the cats go.

All I can say is you’re a lucky guy Steve. My wife would have me running around the river all day and I wouldn’t get any fishing done!!

It is a very nice ride.
I spent the evening with him recently….. I can see it now. After spending a night on that I wonder how I’ll fair in other boats.
    Thanks Steve
Good luck on baggin an Upgrade on a Flat. Your time is coming soon.

    Pug..you have good eyes.

However…it’s just a softsoap bottle…it contains flat slime…very handy. You think his FW would use it if she knew??

You are kind of sneaky, Brian. I didn’t notice you taking the photos. I thought I might have spoiled you the way you settled into that comfy Captains Chair. Sorry we didn’t catch any fish but at least when I get skunked we are comfortable. It has been a fun summer and we still have a chunk of sturgeon season left. When it gets cold I will just pop my Mr Heater in the Day Enclosure and warm up. I’m not ready for the season to end just yet.

That pontoon is pretty nice, but I am going with one of these. Just mount a couple of rod holders and beverage holder of course. Launch from anywhere and go where no outboard would dare.

Forgive me if someone like dtro the UTuber already posted this. I think he had, but couldn’t find it on a search.

The best part, it is Polish like me.

And to unhijack I would once again like to say Steve, when you taking me fishing? Just ask BK, I am a treat to fish with.
