You know how when your child is born you can see your wife in there eyes or other facial features?
As they grow older other mannerisms show up. Many times it’s only you that would notice them..it might be something as small as the way her lip moves when she smiles. It just triggers something that makes you think of your wife.
The FW and FD are two completely differant people when it comes to fishing. Both good in their own way… the FD is VERY vocal when it comes to having a fish on the line.
Tonight was no differant. We had a good last hour of fishing. I’m not sure if it was the spot or the fish just turned on..but we had everything from 3 pound channels to 1 pound spotless crappies to a 43″ (aprox) sturgeon in the boat. All sorts of hooting and hollering going on.
As she was reeling in what I thought was a smallish sturgeon… the “fish” came to the surface…I thought my St Croix rod was going the way of Blacksportsmans.
This is the best I can explain it. I was in the back of the boat, she was bringing the “fish” in just in front of the seat ahead of me. This is when my first ever two foot eel came to the surface…the rod stayed there…but her feet were almost to the front seat.
I reached over a grabbed the rod for it’s safety…and my sanity.
With one glance at her standing on that chair…I had this “dejavue” of the FW in the same position when she saw her first snake on the river. A true Kodak moment…too bad I was busy with the business at hand.
Ahh…life is good when ones living the high life.
