I had stopped in at Vado’s in Fridley/Spring lake park this afternoon and they had some shad in. I didnt see the sign for how much they are charging for it… but I am sure it can come in handy for some of you north metro guys on the way out sturgeon fishing this fall!

Thanks for the heads up. I might head over there.

I think I ran into you in the dark on friday night. If that was you, how’d you do?

As audemp said.. that was us. It was a tough night! (That usually happens when Marc talks me into fishing ) If it had been aquajoe.. nothing would have bit with us fishing together.. and a duck wouldnt have flown anywhere either!

Nope… AquaJoe I think has the worst luck of all with me.

Isnt that funny how that happens? Some of us we cant catch a fish or shoot a bird together to save our lives… others have the exact opposite effect, cant do anything wrong?

That ok, the luck can only remain bad for so long, change is inevitable.

Dave, did you check out the catfish rods at Vado’s when you were there? All rods are 50% off right now, not a large selection though.

I was out looking for more circle hooks, and finally found some at Thorne Bros.

Vados has eagle claw and gamakatsu circles.. they are on the north east wall/corner area… no big octopus hooks though

Yea, none. Trails End down the road has 2/0 Gama circles, nothing larger and bank sinkers for $.75. Found my 80# High-Vis yellow PowerPro there too.

Thorne Bros. does have Gamakatsu octopus circles up to 7/0 at this time.

I’m just posting this if someone lives up this way. My first choice would be Moore’s Bait, but it is kind of far from me and I get lost easy in that part of town.

The easiest thing to do is go to Moores… he has everything there 99% of the time… Better prices too.

Its one thing if your just on the way fishing and one of these other places are on the way for a bag of shad or 2, but if you have to stock up on tackle(its all hard to find), Its best to burn a gallon of gas and go to Moores and get everything you need all at one place. I would rather spend my cash on tackle vs extra gas and the time it take to hit up 4 different shops and still not get what you really wanted.
