The Secret Bait

Well, I’ve been testing this stuff out for a couple months now.

Realtor Ron has been fishing sturgeon for over 20 years was telling me about this bait while we were catfishing. So…I thought I would give it a try for channels…then I should have any “bugs” worked out by the time sturgeon season came around.

    Here’s the facts:

    Channel Cats~

I used it on 5 trips, four were used during daylight and one after dark.
    Tally: 4 channels
    1 three pounder
2 just over 14 pounds (one after dark fish)
    1 just over 8 pounds

    Sturgeon:

    Used twice:
The first time we had an assortment of baits out and no sturgeon were caught.

The second time Ryan came in with his 58.5 incher.
That was the only sturgeon caught.

Although the results are promising…I can’t say it’s the silver bullet in Sturgeon baits.

You guys might want to try it on one rod just to see how it does….

…and don’t forget…when the big one has the line tight…twang it!!

Ryan’s fish didn’t jump but she sure didn’t like him messing with the line!

Ok Brian.. now we have your experience with the bait… maybe you can chime in and say what it is?

I believe it had something to do with shrimp?

I know the secret, and for a nominal price, it’s yours. PM me for the address where you can send your check Dave.

    The recipe…

Uncooked, shell on shrimp…whatever size is on special.

One drop of Annis oil per shrimp.

The cheap glad type containers work well for this…I place 12 or so shrimp in the container. Then freeze until needed.

Now…for the secret procedure…. must be pulled at least one day ahead of time and left in the sun. Micro waving will work in a pinch, but isn’t as good as time under the sun.

Warning…this stuff will make Sonny’s Super Sticky Stink bait smell like rose buds.

One last thing…this special shrimp doesn’t work well in conjunction with white rods.

Shrimp buying tip…at the grocery stores…when the fresh shrimp is getting old they will freeze it and sell it for less money than fresh…that’s the stuff to buy. Older is less expensive and better.

We’ll just see about that now, won’t we.

    Brian

I thought the bait was delicious, Just like a friday nite out at the bungalo with the swat team… hec everytime we baited up we would grab one of rons shrimp and one of his awsome subs, a guy could get a little out of shape fishing with shrimp for to long, one on the pole two in the hole

I have used fresh shrimp a few times when it was on sale. It really can’t be beat for channel cats either!

I may just get some and throw it in the sun for a couple days now!

Is it really necessary? Have you run the proper field tests with a control group etc.?

Should I take out the vein on the shrimp or do they like a little shrimp poo? And cocktail or tartar sauce?
