Hey guys, I am heading out this weekend to the southern reaches of the MN to hit the MN. What is the preferred bait right now for big channels? Shad? Cut sucker?
Also, are the fish coming in shallow or deep? Thanks for the help!
Your in the same boat as everyone else right now.
The recent rains have shuffled the deck on Cats.
People are still trying to figure out the combo and nothing has hit yet.
I’ve been skunked the last two times out as well as a lot of other MN river fisherman.
I think that a lot will depend on the conditions down there. The river level has been dropping like a rock so you might be able to locate the fish realativly easy.
