Any one else a little excited for the fall sturgeon season? This is the Catfish/Sturgeon board ya know.

    Let’s get it pumped up

In all seriousness, I am looking forward to it and would like to thank a certain member for introducing local sturgeon fishing to me. Was also introduced to an unnamed slimy species as well that night

Wasn’t that you yelling at Bob Moore in a contest last year…”let me…let me…hold the rod…please let me…let me!”

I thought what happened in the boat stayed in the boat.

The annual bluegills that fight back season should be plenty of fun. Crawler on the bottom, sit and wait. Wish it was a little more challenging, but the fight makes up for it.

Only 2 more weeks until 5-6 days/nights a week on the water.

Im looking forward to the body aches after spending day after day of fishing big fish, lifting anchors like a chinese fire drill, watching partners run laps around the boat chasing their big fish, jaws dropping when they jump out of the water… and even the “excitement” of others when an eel gets into the boat

They work great for Flats but remember they can’t be longer then 6 1/2″s “MN” unless caught in same body of water your fishing in…..

Mr. Special swears that Eels are awesome to eat….

And I thought I was already excited! Sept 1st can’t come fast enough!

Oh, and Wiggum, it was definitely terror, but did end up being a pretty comical situation! I have to remember to hold the eel further from the boat next time!

I’m no sure… dtro, Mr Keb, and Whisker Hooked might have different opinions… but I thought it was fun(in a dimented sort of way!) Aqua Joe seems to like to bring them in the boat and play with them for a while, at the same time, audemp is just facinated that there is an eel in the boat.

I only heard one high pitch squeel of terror last year… and it wasnt Whisker Hooked(the only female on the list)… although, I will admit that I did have quite he concern when I had one slithering through the boat that I could not get control of for a period of time!

Hey Tyler! Looking forward to seeing you up this way!

I have two 112 inch tape measures this year…since I can’t add, they’ll come in handy!

I’m going to have to hit it this year. Who needs a net man?

The only thing that bums me out about it being sturgeon season is that it is the end of summer.
At least about everyone else got their PB I have to make the Sturgeon Ex. next spring too. You people cannot be having that much fun and not include me.

Even my wife doesn’t wear gloves! But those little buggers have a sharp spines!

The April trip is a great way to get the Spring season started. We had a blast up there even though our numbers were low (we should of followed BrianK)!

Pug, I hate the end of summer too…Only thing I’ve been looking forward to now is the Sturgeon season. I’ll have room in my boat during the week if you want to get out.

The smaller the Sturgeon, the sharper the scutes (spelling?).

Yes, the Sturgeon Excursion starts the year and the Sturgeon season ends the open water season.

The summer of ’07 was a very memerable one for me to say the least…no matter what happens this fall with the best could still be one cast away.

    Hayward??

No…but we’ll want to see a full report if you make it back with Pug in your boat.

    (don’t worry about fish pictures)

    That’d be funny…if it weren’t true.

That’s ok. God is saving the state record flathead for me.
