Hey guys, can you help me out with this? I was just reading the regs for North Dakot-MN border waters (Red River) as I am heading up to Fargo/Moorhead this weekend.

If I fish the North Dakota side from shore, is my MN license good enough?

    Thanks!

    Yes.

Pg. 45 of the MN Regulations

“Anglers may launch and fish from either shore and may transport their catch by the most direct route to the state in which they are licensed.”

You can use 2 lines too!

That is excellent news! Thanks Hanson. Anybody have suggestions of how to fish channels up there? Standard cutbait rig?

I’m not sure, but there is good walleye fishing just South of there.

Good Luck & Have fun. I would also catch Cats once in awhile.

Rip there isn’t any good walleye fishing on the Red river. That is just an old wifes tail.

Why would anyone want to fish for a 12 lb fish…when they can have consistant action with a 20+ pounder??

Check with Landscat, I’m sure Kent will help you out.

Oh the good ol’ days Mark. Going to college skipping school to haul in Monster Spring and Fall eyes from shore down the by Oxbow dam. Gotta love the 2 lines also.

BK, Because Walleyes fight better comapred to those Kitty’s.

I don’t know my Cats, but I caught one that was about 14 lbs one time fishing for eyes. That was my biggest to date and was right by the 94 bridge.

Sorry somehow missed this post. If you havn’t been up yet and are planning on coming soon. The bite right now is frogs and only frogs. I haven’t been able to put the boat in the water due a slight problem with rain. I had a buddy call me tonight and he is out with a little jon boat and hit bottom seven times and that was with the current. There is now way my big boat will take that so I will be fishing new waters until fall unless we get rain.

So yes youo MN lic. is good and frogs are the bait to use now. Best of luck.
