Here are a couple of post spawn, low flow flatties from pool 3 last week. Up until last week we have been targeting shallow water log jams with great sucess but the shallow water bite has really begun to slow down.We have now moved out to main channel drop offs adjacent to deep water or up stream from deep holes. The primary bait of choice has been bullheads with a few smaller fish being taken on cut creek chubs. The first fish is 41 inch 35 pounder and my brother burbob caught his personal best that tipped the scale at 46lbs6ounces.The bite has still remained very good even with the low flow upon us. Hope to see some of you out. Good luck

How deep is the deep water you’re adjacent to or upstream from? And… how much flow is there where you’re fishing? And… how deep is the water your bait is sitting in?

And… very nice fish, by the way – good job!

    it’s about time I broke 40 lbs.
Man did that take a long time, plus the frustration of sitting next to Sauger every night as he horses in hogs
Well it was all well worth it

Flathead, What I look for is deep sections of the channel with very fast breaks, maybe 25 to 30 fow.I try to set up in ten to twelve feet and lay the bullies right on the break.Early in the evening I try to keep my baits deep and move them in as the night progresses. With the low flow it is very easy to keep your baits where you want them.
