roll call for Lake Mendota channel cat GTG

We are two weeks away from the dates 3-4 August. I would like to know who is planning on attending, who is bringing boats. We should meet at Mendota Park camp ground spot 27 is reserved. Lets try to meet between 6-8:00pm. If people want to day trip and just do the Saturday that is fine too. The address is 5130 County Trunk M Middleton, WI 53562. I want to be fishing one of my spots by 8:30pm on the 3rd. I will probably do some kind grilling probably Brats or something for the rally. My Cell number is 608 732-5778. The bite has been consistent with several nice fish taken each trip so far this summer. Last year this weekend produced an incredible stringer of channel cats for me (all released of course).

Developed a problem with my boat lights but I’m pretty sure I’ll get that figured out before then.

We are planning a major kitchen remodel and to our surprise the builder called today and said he could start right away sometime next week. A lot sooner than we expected.

We hope to do a lot of the demolition, cleanup and parts running ourselves to help with the costs so my schedule is pretty packed right now. I’d like to think I could take off that Saturday afternoon and head down to meet you guys for the night, but I can’t be sure of anything right now.

Well after a discussion with the wife (ie: begging ) I got the OK………..
Will bring my backwater beater,with 1 open seat (unless I can talk my bud into going)
Would even have an open seat or 2 in my wagon if anyone from LaCrosse wants to go…..and save some money on gas

All you posers that said you were interested better sign up soon or I am going to bag this thing.

Kev…I won’t know until a few days before the event. The MIL is having some serious medical problems. If things change…I’ll post here….just can’t make a decision until we know what’s happening.

Kev, how late do you usually fish.

my arms are usually tired around midnight but if I had good company and they were biting. Who knows. Last year if my memory serves. A buddy and I had 17 fish in the boat between 7 and 22lbs.

I would really like to cmmit to this.. but I cant. If medical issues straiten up around here I’ll be out there with my boat and possibly a passenger or 2.

One shouldnt be surprised to see me there, but I cant commit.

I’m in, but I need a seat.

I’m in. I need directions to get there being I’ve never been there before. I don’t have a boat but will fish where ever, shore or boat. I’ll be camping though, I have a big three room tent if anyone needs aplace to crash too.

I hate to do it but I’ve got to pull out of the Lake Mendota cat fishing get-to-gether.

Our Salmon fishing trip scheduled to go down this weekend out of Milwaukee was canceled due to strong NE winds and high waves. I’ve been trying to hook up on a salmon trip with Jeremy Williams for two years now so we’ve decided to try again this coming weekend. This was a trip swap deal and I’m running out of time to get it done this summer as we both have conflicts in the coming weeks.
