I think I have another pic to add once I dig out my camera(along with a couple weeks of reports ).

I dont know the weight, I know the length on that one was 28.5, I dont think we got a girth. It looked very similar to your previous channel at 28×15? if my memory serves correct. We managed one other channel in the mid 20″ class. The flatheads just wouldnt cooperate last night, but my trusty 3 shad(took a few hours to harvest ) payed off with a few fish and at least kept the skunk away(right hanson ).

It was a pleasure fshing with you Dan!

I think my hilloucinations are finally wearing off after coming back through that fog last night!

Dan, with all the weight guessing going on, you could be Bob Barker’s replacement.

Anyone know where any of the channel cat weight conversion post went?

If I had to guess.. I think it was around 10# +/- a pound.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has, in the fishing regulations guide, a chart of average weight by length of various species of fish. It does not take girth into account, so I question its accuracy. But it says that a 28″ Channel is 8.8 lbs, and a 29″ fish is 9.9 lbs. That would put it at right around 9 1/2 lbs.

The chart I made from Red River channels says 28.5″ = 10.65 pounds.

From the looks of this photo…it looks like Dave locked lips and blew it up for the first photo!
