I have a small creek that I fish for carp. The carp are good sized, but the one problem is the sunfish just will not leave my bait alone . I have tried oatmeal, stinkbait, and doughballs nothing can seem to catch fish and keep the little one’s off my bait. What should I do . Kruger

Have you asked? I shoot carp in the City of Crystal. I just shot the Crystal PD an e-mail and they said that there is no ordinance against it.

Have you tried corn? It works well.

also you can wrap your bait in a small square of panty hose material. The sunfish cannot get the bait off the hook as quick if you do that.

    It is legal in Minneapolis???

I’ve thought about it, but never tried. I figure there’s a lot of PETA types around those lakes and I don’t want trouble.

I was told by a wis dnr officer that as long as a string is attached to the arrow it’s considered fishing equipment. But I bet it’s different in MN.

Give this guy a shout. He would know the legalities of bowfishing the metro. He is the MN representative of the Bowfishing Association of America.
