Well here it is another personal best Flat for me!

Went out on the MN river last night with Brian(Aanderud) with his black lab the Flatty Dog!

When this fish hit he immediately took out line slow at first then as I just about touched the Boss #4 he hit the afterburners! Ive never seen line come off of that reel so fast! I still stayed relativly cool and collected. Fliped the lever and let him have it. As soon as I set I was like whoaaaaaa!! The fish was still running as fast pulling drag on the tekota 600 like no tommorrow. But that 100 lb PP I had on slowed him down after a couple of minutes and a few bottom hugging and shorter runs Brian got him in the net. When he pulled him in the boat I was like yep that is a new PB! He weighed in at 32 lbs was 42 inch length and 24 girth.

Thanks to Brian for taking me out!

I’ve yet to catch one that big and your right about them hitting the afterburners, mine did too. Here in the river i’ve yet to hold one more than a few minutes because once they feel the hook they really go, you have to feel them pull to believe thier power.

Congrats on your PB, and think of this, YOU HAVE a whole lot of Summer left.
We expect to see your pics again.
    Good Luck.

Great fish Marc. I can’t believe the difference in how that guy hit versus the 9 pounder you got earlier in the night. Holy cow, he was screaming line off. He wasn’t going to putz around with the bullie, that’s for sure!

Jack sure loves it when we get fish in the boat! He’s a maniac.

That was kind of funny how we just stopped talking about how bigger flats usually dont screw around and mouth the bait that they usually hit it and eat it…then zzzzziiiiiinnnnnngggg!!! the clicker took off like a bat out of ell!

Yeah we should give it another 15 minutes!
