Saturday night WWG, couple of buds, and I hit the water around 6ish.
We 1st fished a proven spot in the past with no luck, but a few big sheepheads.
Around 10ish we decided to make a move to our 2nd spot.
Within min’s we had our 1st run only to pop off shortly. For the next hr or so. We had 3 more runs, some really heavy fish on, but none landed.
Finally around 12ish I had my 1st run, and landed it. It was a #7 flatty.
Again a few more runs and misses. We were just about to call in a night when my roomates rods, gets a run. i set the hook for him and the fight was on.
    She weighed in @ #43lbs and 45″.
We hadn’t even got her back into the water yet. When my rod gets a run. I set the hook and another solid fish. It tip the scales @ #30.
So we stayed a little while longer and WWG had a run but it dropped it.
I’m not sure what realy to stay. but i don’t think I’m gonna fish in another boat all year. Sorry WWG your stuck with me bro!!!
year to Date WWG’s rig has boated #300lbs of flats.
    Will post pix’s ASAP.

Well you know that I can’t take all the credit. Those guys in that duck boat were on that spot on the way downriver, if they had stayed there we wouldn’t have even been able to fish it.

Aanderud was in his boat around the corner from us. He got a couple small guys. I am in a situation where I have a boat and some time to fish…..but I rarely have time to go get bait. I have to say that the bait we had for Saturday was pretty impressive…in more ways than one.

Got some leftovers in my tank just calling my name. I am going to get out for a little while tonight in the little boat….maybe trying for some garbage fish.

Thanks for postin the pix’s bud.
The buds are just starting out cattin, let alone flatheadin. It seems that when i let them set the hook themselves, it’s a miss or somehow the hook pops out. I think they don’t understand the force required to pull a 10/0 out of a bully and into a flats mouth.
Plus it gives me a little glory.

Nice fish guys! Guru, you might have to put another deck on that boat, like a double decker bus, because I think you’re going to be in-demand.

Mr. Special, you are on fire. No, I mean you are literally on fire. Stop, drop and roll. Oh, that’s just your jacket. That one is close to toppling BK’s Corona shirt, but not quite.

If he’s wearing the lucky underwear……I don’t want to know about it.

Phil…..next time we play poker for real money.

I just need to sell the Lund and get a 24 foot pontoon boat for flatty fishing……

    20 rod holders
    2 BBQ Grills
    Satellite TV

What else should go on the “dream machine”?????

That’s why I don’t play for real money. I’m just not the strongest player.
But I can help someone else be chip leader in a New York minute. LOL!

I have the bait tank stocked……both boats ready at a moments notice.

    Anytime. Anywhere.

Just remember that the homemade rocket engines are in full production………and attached to the passengers seat in the event an ejection is necessary.

See new avatar of the little rockets!!! The next one will have to be in the 6-8 foot tall range.

Engines on the bench right now in the 400 lb thrust class. Should be enough to get most of my “buddies” up and out of here…….

8 footers? Do you need some type of permit for one that big? holy moly, if you aren’t careful Jack Bauer will be knocking down your door!

Dude, that guys duck boat was one of the nicest ‘duck boats’ I’ve seen!

Well thanks to Ryan (Ralph Wiggum) and Gary (Pierbridge) for joining me last night for another trip out on the river. Ryan kept telling me about this monkey he’s had on his back for so long.

The magic boat came through for another personal best.

I got a 26 pounder that was small compared to Ryan’s…..

I’ll let him tell the rest of this story though. Needless to say it was good company and the ejection seat wasn’t necessary.

We were too busy with runs all night to play cards. We had 7 or 8 good runs with only the two fish landed. They were beauties though.

    You’re turn next time Gary.

The lucky Lund sure did come through.

I picked up mine up on a bullhead at 8:30 (less than 5 minutes after we anchored). WWG’s came at 10:00 in the same location, and like he said, we missed many fish, too! We had one flurry of 3 solid runs in 10 minutes, but only landed one of them. Anyhow, the photo of mine is in another thread of mine if you want to see it, along with measurements.
