    I’m confused…normal mode of course.

When I look at the page that shows the new species forums, more often than not..there are more people viewing the cat/sturgeon forum than any of the others.

I guess I think it’s odd that this forum has less posts…but more viewers.

I’m not complaining at all…just an observation.

Now that I think about it…they could be non registered folks browsing through…but then again, like right now, there’s 8 viewing this forum and 1 in the walleye forum…none in the others.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

    I’m working on it!

I’ve got a bunch of photo’s but they are on a SD card in a funky format. I can’t open them without the camera software…..that’s at home. <sigh>

Hang in there…I know it’s an awe inspiring photo.

I believe there is a good number of people that stop in to see pictures of big cats. How could you not want to take a little time each day to admire such a beautiful fish

It’s kinda like the freakshow at the circus, Brian can be the bearded lady! Now if they could just teach that Pug guy to eat fire or swallow swords I think this forum would really blow up.

It’s a place to bring your kids too. But on the way home you say it was fun, but kids don’t grow up to do this.

I was going to say that, except I added it would be on fire. The trick to not burning yourself is to drink some cat slime beforehand. <– Not angry….heartburn.

Seems to me y’all are just jealous of us walleye folk being able to catch and eat something that doesn’t require changing your first name to Joe or Billy and middle name to Bob.

Could it be that pointing and clicking to just look at pics is simple……so it is easily handled by most cat guys??????? While typing a post(or a smartaleck reply ) takes a little more moxy…..the type that a walleye guy might be able to muster up?

    Just wonderin’ – Tim

Mplspug, It is all in good fun. To be totally honest with you, I am a little jealous. I might have to follow the rest and try catting one night. I have been wanting to try it for a few years now, and the info I received off IDA, I should be able to give it a good shot. Thanks guys!

Checking out the overall number of posts on all the forums, the Catfish forum is second only to the walleye forum.

We left those silly Bass guys in our wake

If we disregard the smiley face thingy we see some profound wisdom here. It really is hard to find things to talk about without all of the stuff, ie the newest electronics, planer boards, line counters and books on how to use them, baits with goofy names in every color, ice fishing stuff, trucks to pull glittery boats and the glittery boats themselves.

That is so true Josh…hence my tongue in cheek post about X Roll sinkers.

The one thing that I have to keep reminding myself is that there are new catfisher wannabe’s coming through this forum. These folks are looking for good, current info…the stuff that I as a regulars here just take for granted.

The catfish forums have grown HUGELY over the last two years and I attribute that to all of you regulars that are willing to share your knowledge of the sport with others.

Another quote from my River Rat friend.. “I learn something from everyone I fish with”. I’ve expanded that to…I learn something from everyone that posts here.

Some say catfishing is too easy. I say it’s the most complex easy fishing there is.

I don’t post here consistently but I certainly don’t consider myself an “outsider” by any means… I like to catch cats. Or pike. Or damn near anything that swims to be real honest.

The truth about why the cat forum is so successful is that the cat-crowd has been, or seems to have been, free from those competitive and / or secretive tendencies that limit sharing in other forums.

You cat guys share. Both your successes and failures. And far more than bass or walleye guys are comfortable doing.

I applaud this mentality. The one thing I notice is that the cat forum feels… natural. Just a bunch of very dedicated anglers chasing their favorite species and completely comfortable with helping fellow members, that they’ve likely never met, to do the same.

There’s some walleye and bass guys that could learn much from those that frequent this forum.
