Welcome to IDA lowblazah!
Welcome to the site Drew!
I won’t hold the white against you. If you don’t hold the Rod tangle against me from the shore trip this last summer.
Crunch! LOL

That still cracks me up everytime I think of it.

Technically speaking then, not only is she his FW, but also his LFW (Least…).
Just kidding BK’s favorite wife!

No, that’s the one. That’s on the other side.
How big do Channel Cats get?
I caught a very large one this past weekend. On Thursday, I caught one that went 27″ long and on Friday, I caught one that looked big enough to eat the one I caught the day before.
Plan on posting a picture tonight when I get home from work.
My report won’t be done until about 9:00pm so I’ll post it in this forum first, then do my report.
Boog
Yikes! Where did you catch it? Are you sure it was a channel cat? I can’t wait to see the photo!!!
Its got a forked tail and the same rounded fins that the 27″ channel did.
The smaller one was blackish in color and the big one was blue and white.

Awesome. Now hurry up with that picture
Patience my man!
I won’t get out of here till 5:00pm and its going to take me about 45 minutes to get home.
So, its probably going to be around 6:00pm before the picture gets posted.
Go have some supper and take in the Ellen Degeneres show or something!
The first fish measure 27 inches and was caught on Thursday morning.
The bigger one I caught on Friday morning. Unfortunately, we never measure it and my digital scale has been weighing everything we put on it at 18lbs.
My partner and I agreed that from now on, we’re only going to weigh walleyes and saugers on the digital scale!
Boog
That didn’t take long
Great pics, I would like to know how long that second fish is, from the pic (and having caught one myself) I give it 18lbs
Oh Boog!
That’s a lot of cans of Tuna!
PS Always carry two scales.

Almost forgot..Did Halfen show you how to catch them?
Actually, No! Jason never got around to doing that. It was just totally by accident that we stumbled onto this big kitty cat.
Maybe, if I could get him down here to show me how, then we could start catching a few of them on purpose!

I’ll give that channel 20-25lbs. She’s a biggun!!
I was thinking 25lbs… he’s not holding it out you can see his arm is bent.
Thats a Big one!
Last week I held a 44″ northern pike in my hands.
That was a thick, beefy fish too.
To me, this fish felt heavier than that. I would estimate it at 25 to 28lbs. But then again, I’m not a cat guy and you guys that catch a lot of these would have a better idea of its actual weight than me.

It could be. Its built like a tank!
