I should get on board posting a few pictures here. All are personal bests from the last 3 weeks. All caught while sturgeon fishing.
My wife and her PB…she tells me she only wants to go fishing for the ‘big’ fish! The last pict is the same fish, I thought it was funny with such a concerned look on her face because she didn’t want to hold it…that’s where the gloves come in.
Mine was over 33″, thats all I know…It was hard to measure because she was flapping her tail too much. Another right at 33″, and my buddies 2nd flat ever.
This is not my biggest cat this year though it is the weirdest cat this year. It weighed 10.2 lbs and fought like there was no tomorrow. I have the patholigist for the MN DNR looking into it.
I’ve seen those nodes in the mouth. Someone on here caught one up at the early spring spot. That one looked normal otherwise though, not like this thing. Maybe you should dump it on 3Ms doorstep with a “nice” note.
If I remember correctly, BK contacted the DNR and got a humorous response from them. I can’t remember them being too worried about it, though.
It sounds like this happens more frequent than not. Maybe they should be concerned. This one was caught on the upper St. Croix in what I thought cleaner water.
Mine had one in each corner of the mouth…but the lower two…popped.
Here’s the edited version on a dnr response…hope you get something better…

Hello, I was asked to respond to your inquiry.
Uff da, that’s a sad-looking fish. What to do with is a personal decision. I might have put it down. The growths look like tumors of some sort, which isn’t out of the ordinary.
