I am not sure what the prizes will be yet be we will find prizes for both flathead and channel cat categories.
I will have more info and a set of rules posted later this weekend.

    Thanks.

The 2007 8th annual In-Depth Angling.com Gentleman’s Honor Catfish tourney will be held in conjunction with the In-Depth Angling.com Get Together on June 23rd at Evert’s Resort. As in the past, the catfish tourney will play by their own rules.

    Here is the deal…..

Fishing hours will be from sunset on Friday, June 22 ’till sunrise on Saturday, June 23. You may submit you best catfish in the following format before 3 PM Saturday.

Total length plus the girth in inches will be the score. (example: Measure the fish at it’s greatest length and at it’s greatest girth. Add the two numbers and that is your score. So a fish that is 40 inches long with a 18 inch girth will have a score of 58.

You must preregister to fish this. Simply post on the Gentleman’s Honor Catfish tourney Roll Call thread to register.

There is no entry fee to fish this event.

Highest score total for a single fish wins.

To back up your entry, take a digital pic and post it in this forum. we will have a thread started for photos and stories.

You may fish any river or lake you choose.

You must submit you entry either in person at Evert’s Resort or online ( a thread will be start titled ’07 GHCT photos) before 3 PM Saturday.

This is a catch and release tourney.

There will be flathead and channel catfish divisions.

If there are any questions or concerns please post them here or pm me.

    Thank you.

Great – I’m not sure if there will be another thread for “roll call” but count me in. I LOVE the fact that it’s in June this year – should make for much better results. Of course the fact that it’s the second shortest night of the year gives us less time, but time in June is much more productive than time in late July/August.

Count me in. I can register my catch online but I cannot make the GTG so do you have to be present at the GTG to win if you have the biggest fish in a category?

I’m interested. I’ll try to find someone to fish with and post in the roll call if I’m in. When is the cut off for entry?

Count me in with a partner

Does the partner have to be a registered member of IDA? I have a few computer illiterate people who want to get out.

If not, I guess I will just have to claim all the fish caught

I’m fishing with a partner who’s technically registered on IDA, but almost never posts – I think he uses the handle “Flatlander2000”.

    Hey now Brian,
Don’t be lettin the secret out of the bag. That has put the winning channel in channel in the boat for 3 years running and it smells a lot better than that Sunny’s stuff you use. Maybe I’ll see ya out there one day next week, I’ll show ya how to catch the really big ones.

    Brian,

Just tie the FW’s rental to the new sign I just put up in that spot “Major snake migration route–tie up at own risk”

Nope, no cutoff. Just register before you go fishing that evening.

Anyone registering a fish must be a member of IDA.

It may have stated this before…but this tourney is catch, photo, measure and release. So please don’t bring the cats to Everts…as there isn’t a weigh in.

Count me in. I’m taking my wife on her first ever catfishing experience so hopefully she can tie into her first kitty and maybe with a little luck I can also land a big one. She’s not too sure though about sticking her hand in a flatheads mouth after seeing the pic’s from Bret Clark’s post last Friday when we were out with Naomi and she caught her PB.
Play safe and good luck on the water.
