Tonight I’ll be going catfishing for the first time. I’m alittle excited, I’ve caught those funning looking things before , while I was walleye fishing. But this is the first time I’ll be going over to the dark side so hopefully I’m not to big of a pain for Gocatfish. I’ll post the a report tommorrow.

I wouldn’t worry about being a pain- I’ve fished with mplspug and there is no way you can get more painful than that

Wait a minute…I know the people you have fished with before. You put me below Brian???

Word of caution, Gocatfish won’t bait his own hook. He says the fish guts are icky and he feints at the sight of blood.

    for me tonight.

I took Mark(hookem69) down to pool 2 last night. We put in at Lilydale and headed up to the confluence and actually took a little ride up the MN river to fish a couple spots.
We started in an outside bend littered with timber. Set out shad and cut sucker, and got ready for action.

Well the action never came, all night long. We hit 1 more spot on the MN and then headed back down to the Miss. Set up in 18-20 fow with a good amount of timber again. We had the Twins game on and we BSing enjoying a nice evening on the river. I looked up at Mark sitting in the front of the boat and he had the most confused look on his face So I say “what’s up? What are you looking at?” He tells me to turn and look up on shore. I turn, look and my eye’s were probably the size of dinner plates I can’t believe what I am seeing- There is a guy standing there not wearing any clothes and I’m not 100% sure about this, but we believe he was ummmmmmmm entertaining himself.

What the????????????? I am still in shock I don’t know what to think of this situation. I bring a guy out cattin’ for the first time and not only did we not catch any fish, there is some sicko spying on us

I will no longer be fishing around the confluence of the MN and Mississippi rivers. Any of you who do bring your sunglasses because the can get pretty bright down there.

You have got to be kidding, right

Alright hookem, that is not what catfishing is really about , Gocat normally catches some good fish.

My only question is, why didn’t you lob a 8oz weight and a 10/0 Gama his way, and see if you could “get hooked”

    Oh, you spotted me?

Well I am glad it was him you brought out last night then. That ain’t right. That’s why you should always carry a bb gun or wrist rocket. Idiots like that need a lesson taught to them.

Are you sure he wasn’t just washing his clothes? The last time I was at Lillydale, I stumbled across a makeshift home.

There’s wackos everywhere…just that there’s more people closer to the Metro area…hence more wackos.

I still like the idea of a paintball gun.

It is a good 12-15ft straight down to the water where this happened, so I seriously doubt he washing his clothes.

The really scary thing is that I may have mumbled something about going walleye/bass fishing when we were headed home. Is that bad, do you think I’ll be ok?

But those walleye things have teeth! I’m scared, what if I actually have fun or even worse I actually end up thinking that it is cool

Well, I went cat fishing forthe first time last night. We didn’t catch any fish but it was alot of fun & I’ll try it again. But I’m not going to Tony’s (Gocatfish) secret spot anymore there is some real weird people around there. If that is what catfishing is about then maybe I’ll stick to the eyes.

Ah, the fun if river fishing. You never know what you are going to catch…….or see. I have avoided incidents so far. The closest I got was a bum on the river when I was walking back from a spot at Hidden Falls, but he was harmless.

No need to worry about that!

Hookem…in all the years I’ve been fishing…I’ve never seen anything like that…Well, Manny got a boy friend one day…

But seriously..the closest (and it wasn’t THAT close) to what you’ve witnessed that I’ve ever seen is Catten Addicts “plumbers pants”.

There is nothing in the world that would have refrained me from at least casting a catfish rig at that individual… some type of attempt to inflict bodily harm. The police would have been able to identify him easily at the hospital.. he is the one with a 10/0 hook imbedded in his shoulder blade, and a bruise in the middle of his chest from a 4 oz weight.

Thee are some sickos in this world.. for some reason, most all of them tend to hang in close proximity to St Paul. There used to be lots of that kind of stuff going on around Lilydale until enforcement cracked down a bit.

    Hey now!

You sure it wasn’t sasquatch after a visit to the barber? Maybe he just caught a big cat and got a little too excited?

Could it maybe considered to be chumming of some sort

Or possibly Baiting , a new style of “stink Bait”

    OK, I’ll let it go

If only the guy on the shore did the same!

Ok, I am done. No more, no more!

Wait, it is only called chumming if he had a buddy with him.

    Now I am done!

Now last night I went Walleye fishing, we saw some Bald Eagles & Blue Herons. But nothing like I saw when I went catishing for the first time. We even caught fish, just kidding Tony. So maybe there is some normal people on the river unlike the guy that was protecting Tony’s secret spot.
