Totally awesome night to be on the water.
While Gabe and his brother where soaking three bullheads and a sucker I tossed out a treble hook (with the barbs bent down) out holding Sudden Impact Fiber Bait.
That gave us some channel cat action while waiting for the sun to set. Largest was a 9 pound channel.
We lost a flat on a bullhead fairly early in the evening and stuck one smaller then the channel around 11 pm.
Water temp was 72 with the flow at about 46k cfs.
The mosquitos were angry. The Thermocell was working well, when one of the guys say, I have to put on some bug repellent. I thought that was odd until I realized the Tcell ran out of butane. It was ‘ell for 10 – 15 minutes.
The wind picked up a bit through the night and we could see hints of lightening over the tree tops. A quick check of the weather overlay on the Lowrance and found the closest weather to be 63 miles to the West heading North.
The only miss up of the evening came after I was back at Everts. I can’t locate the cord to upload the picture in my camera. So this will just have to “almost be a fish story” until I find it.
New first for me last night.
My customer insited that I take their catch home.
Since they didn’t want to touch them, the Team Catfish Floating Fish Grips came in handy again.
