Tagged channel

    My buddy boated a small channel with a tag last night on the Croix. Did the do any tagging on the Croix? I saw a old post of them tagging channels and a few flats on pool 2 in 2010. I sent a email off to the DNR with the tag number and measurements.

    Joel (the head cat tagger) pops in here once in a while along with a few other Bio kinda guys from the DNR. I’m sure you’ll have a response. Congrats!

    I heard back and it was originally tagged within a few boat lengths from where we boated it. The original tag date was 6/16/11 and measured 20.3 and they aged it at 10 years old. Almost 3 years and less then a inch of growth. We measured just over 21″.

    Wow, less than an inch in three years. That just doesn’t sound right. How old would a 34″ channel be then?
